1. Can I speak to a human being?
We are not really set up to take phone calls. You can try to reach a human being by dialing (937) 660-8486, but we work at odd
times. Best to e-mail us or use our little form.
We answer e-mails much faster (this is a web based business, after all!)
2. I see references to COUPONS. How do I get COUPONS?
Follow us on Twitter or read our blog – you can often find coupons in the lower left hand column of our
website, too.
3. My order won't go through! Or I can't remove things from my basket, change quantities, etc. HELP!

4. I'm a bookstore, gift shop, library! Can I order WHOLESALE?
The discount is modest.You need to set up an account when you log in, then notify me so I can verify and set you up.

5. Where is your off-line store located? Is this a hobby or a business?
We are a home based business. 90% of our
business is conducted on-line, a bit more is to local f/Friends. In
other words - no store! This is a small business that started as just
bookplates and has grown to include other booklover items (and Quaker and
grandmother related items - all parts of me!). If you are interested, you can read a

6. Well, all well and good, I'm sure you're a lovely person, but I am having trouble placing
my order! How can you help me now?
Please look at our
Help section- if all else

7. Do you carry all the books and accessories you list?
And how fast can I get them?
We try to stock all the
bookplates listed on this site. We no longer carry a line of books
since there are so many books now available on-line.
Regarding
delivery, we intend to mail your order two - three business days after we
receipt of payment, though personalized bookplates can take a bit
longer. Please note, if you place an order for an Out-Of-Stock
product or Pre-Order a product we will hold your entire order until the item is
available OR we will ship the orders separately, and bill you for shipping on
the separate orders. The minimum order of $10.00 needs to be met for each order.
We do pay shipping charges if we've messed something up!
Other
products we design and sell from Friendly Spirit's Other Shops
are billed
through and shipped by the manufacturer. They generally ship FASTER than
anything else we have -- 2 days after the order is paid for (longer for
personalized), the order is in the mail!
8.
Do you take credit card payment?
Yes. We take American Express, Visa, Discover or Master
Card. You can pay on-line as you place the order or we can invoice you so you
can pay on-line. Information is NOT stored on the internet.
6. Why do you
have such a big minimum? I only want one bookplate!!
We try to keep our
minimum order low enough so people can place small orders, but large enough so
that we don't lose time and money filling itty bitty orders. It just doesn't
make good business sense to have a low minimum. We will take a one item or less
than $10.00 order by mail, so feel free to print out what you want and mail it
in.
9. Why do checks take so long to clear?
We give checks
two - three weeks to clear (depends on how faraway from Ohio your bank is). This
is standard practice for a small home-based business on-line.
8. How can I change or cancel an order?
If you want to make a minor change
in your order, e-mail us. Give us the order number and the change you want made.
For major changes, place another order and e-mail us so we can delete your first
order (always include the order number as a reference so we don't cancel the
wrong order!)
If you placed an order then decided you don't want it,
we'll be glad to cancel it for you, just e-mail us
. If you changed your
mind on your payment method, don't worry -- we hold orders for awhile, until we
receive payment. If changing from check/money order to credit card, just follow
the instructions in the confirmation order we send you after you place your
order.
10. Where is my e-mail confirmation? How do you ship? When
do you ship?
Each order confirmation is done automatically, as soon as
you place your order. If you don't get a confirmation within a few minutes,
please e-mail us. You choose how you want your order shipped, from
United States Postal Service First Class or Priority, insured or UPS Ground, 2nd
day or 3rd day.
We like to stress that your paying for 2nd day does NOT
mean the order will be received two days after you place it! You should receive
it 2 days after we ship it. In most cases, we ship the next business day after
we receive your order, though we encourage you to accept 5 working days. We
encourage you to let us know if you need an order for a special event BEFORE
placing your order. We are glad to work with you to meet your deadlines (but
we're only human!) Exceptions to the next business day shipping are:
personalized bookplatesand of course, if payment has not been received or has
not cleared.

What if I don't get my order?
E-mail us if
your order doesn't arrive within the time we've estimated on our confirmation
e-mail to you. We will check to make sure the order was indeed shipped . We can
track your order to find out where it is (UPS and US Postal Service) We will
then e-mail you with procedures and options. We've shipped thousands of orders
and the delivery services have had very few lost packages.
We will
refund money for lost insured orders as soon as we receive the reimbursement
from the carrier! US Postal Service requires that you wait a month from the date
the package was mailed before they will reimburse, but they are very fast. We
don't know about UPS since they have lost any of our shipments yet (knock on
wood!) Please be patient, and do not start by threatening us. We are not in
business to lose customers, we will work with you.
12. Do you ship
internationally? If so, how much will it cost to ship my package? I'm sending a
gift to someone, can you just send the invoice to me and mark the package
"Gift"?
We ship internationally to many countries. To calculate the cost, place your items in your
basket and proceed to check-out. You can stop short of paying if you don't
like the costs. Just empty your basket and quietly step out!
Please be aware that most countries charge an additional customs duty.
This tax is charged to you by your post office when you receive your package.
Shipping charges do not cover these taxes or fees. Some countries charge
a LARGE tax fee. Please check with your postal service before ordering to learn
how much import tax they will charge you.
We need to include the invoice
for customs, even if this is a gift. Packages are marked as "Merchandise". We
will not mark "Gift" on the customs form; please do not ask us
to.
13. What about out of stock bookplates, custom
booklates or personalization of t-shirts and other stuff?
E-mail us
if a bookplate shown is out of stock. At this point we do not print custom
bookplates.

14. Do I have to pay Ohio sales tax?
That depends.
For items ordered from Friendly
Spirit's Books and Gifts, we collect Ohio sales tax following Ohio's law.
Ohio sales tax as of 2010 is based on the ship to address, not the bill to
address.Tax is collected according to the shipping location -- if we are
shipping your order outside of Ohio, you pay no sales tax (even if you live in
Ohio).
Items on the a href="http://www.friendlyspirit.com/Booklover" target="_blank">Friendly Spirit's Other Stuff
shops are billed and shipped by the manufacturers. Sales tax varies if your
ship to is in the same state as one of the ship from locations (California or
Kentucky). .
15. I live in Ohio, but I'm
tax-exempt. None of your methods of payment take that into account.

number, and want to make purchases, please e-mail us We will prepare and send
you information by e-mail that allows you to take advantage of your tax-exempt
status. .

17. What is your privacy
policy? Do you use cookies?
A Friendly Spirit LLC respects the privacy
of every individual who visits our web site. The information we receive depends
on what you do when you visit our site. We do not collect or retain any
information about you personally (that is, your name, address, telephone number
or e-mail address) unless you choose to provide it to us. All information you
provide to us, on-line or off, is held in strict confidence by us. We collect
(when an order is placed) your name, bill to and ship to address, credit card
information (if you are paying by credit card), phone number and e-mail address.
We do not share this information with anyone other than the credit card company
(when applicable). We never give out any information, not addresses or phone
numbers or anything else. We dislike junk mail, and feel strongly about the
telephone solicitation. We believe in Privacy with a capital P.
We
do not collect any other information about you using cookies, or any other
method. The only information we end up with is that which you type in yourself
when you place an order or email us. Information is not stored on-line and is
removed from our computer as soon as the order is processed. If you visit our
site to read or download information: We collect and store only the following
information: the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for
example, aol.com, if you are connecting from an America Online account), the
date and time you access our site and the Internet address of the web site from
which you linked directly to our site. We use this information to measure the
number of visitors to the different sections of our site and to help us make our
site more useful to visitors. This gathered information is general information
and does not include your e-mail address or name.
